GMC National Trainee Survey 2016

This survey has now closed. Survey results can be found on the GMC website.

The purpose of the GMC Survey is to assess the effectiveness of, and perceptions of, postgraduate doctors in training.

Health Education England Thames Valley  [HEE-TV] had a high response rate of over 98% for the 2015 Survey and we are keen to build on this success.

Professional Requirement

Health Education England expects all Trainees to complete the Survey as a professional requirement; Trainees who don't complete the Survey will be given an Outcome 5 at their next ARCP pending an entry in their portfolio which reflects on the quality of their training experience. Please retain evidence of Survey completion and include this in your e-Portfolio.

How to complete the Survey

  • to complete the Survey, please log into your GMC online account from the 22 March 2016;
  • it is important that the feedback you provide relates to the post you were in on the 22 March 2016, and not the post you are in at the time you choose to complete the Survey;
  • if you are having problems completing the Survey, or logging into your GMC online account, please visit the GMC website where you will find further information.

Survey Results

The Survey results will be made available by the GMC on their website later in the year. All Survey results are anonymous and the Quality Team within HEE-TV reviews all free-text comments, and analyses Survey results in conjunction with the relevant Head of School and Director of Medical Education.

The Survey results form an important part of the overall quality information for each post, and in turn the quality of training provided for doctors in training within HEE-TV.

Further queries

if you are an HEE-TV trainee and you have queries about the Survey, please contact the HEE-TV Surveys team in the first instance, surveys.tv@thamesvalley.hee.nhs.uk

Thank you for taking the time to complete the Survey.
