Professional Support Strategy

(formerly Doctors in Difficulty)

At some stage in their career, it is common for trainee doctors to find that either personal or professional pressures have a negative impact on their performance. This may mean that it becomes difficult to achieve set goals within expected timescales, or to function effectively at work. The National Clinical Assessment Service was established in 2002 in order to support doctors requiring professional support.
