Our Quality Management Process

What is the Deanery’s quality management process?

The Oxford Deanery has invested responsibility for Quality Management in our Heads of School. Heads of School are invited by the Deanery Quality Management Committee to present a report of the quality of their posts and programmes on an annual basis and to use this information to grade the quality of training by level within the relevant Trusts and PCTs. These grades are agreed by the Committee during the meeting. The reports follow the GMC model of exception-reporting only and the meetings are generally held in the autumn of each year. The annual reports triangulate evidence from a range of sources including Annual Trust Reports and the GMC National Training Surveys and are used by the Deanery Quality Management Committee to prepare the Annual Deanery Report for the GMC.

Where training and education issues arise, responsibility will lie with the relevant Trust or PCT to determine and identify solutions to the issues. The Deanery will work alongside Trusts and PCTs, supporting local processes to ensure that LEPs are able to quality control training.
