Difficult Conversations in a Training Environment

This interactive half-day workshop provides a model framework for structuring difficult conversations; focusing on careful preparation and early intervention as an efficient way of diffusing tension, creating mutual understanding, enhancing individual performance and promoting good team work.

Effective Communication in Teams

This interactive one-day workshop focuses on how teams can communicate honestly and compassionately to create positive team cultures: maintaining good relationships (even in difficult situations) and access new solutions to previously intractable problems.

This is open to everyone who would like to know more about building positive relationships at work. Medical and Non-Medical Health Professions, Support Staff and Service Managers from Trusts across the Thames Valley HEE are encouraged to apply to make this programme truly inter-professional.

Speaking with Confidence - An Introduction to Assertive Communication

This interactive one-day workshop takes examples from a range of situations where assertiveness is required (saying ‘No’, delegating, and giving/receiving feedback…) and demonstrates how, by knowing how to express our own needs and listening to the needs of others, we can cultivate positive co-operation. The session also explores some of the myths about assertiveness and how we can change our thinking and behaviour so that we can manage difficult situations more confidently, ask for what we need in an open and honest way, and transform aggression and passivity into positive interactions.

NEW: Giving and Receiving Top Quality Feedback

This new half-day workshop is a companion workshop to ‘Difficult Conversation in a Training Environment’ (please see above). From attending this course, delegates will learn how to provide regular and good quality feedback to cultivate constructive relationships, achieve team objectives and support continuous development. Like all our courses, this event is multi-professional and places can be booked using our Course Booking Management System (CBMS).

There are presently  no further dates available for this course but new dates will be added soon.

 

NEW: The Language of Leadership: Finding your own voice

This new one-day workshop is recommended for colleagues making the transition into a Leadership Role. From attending this course, delegates will be challenged to look at how their communication impacts team culture and learn to adapt their language and communication style to improve individual and team performance. At the end of the event, delegates will form practical ideas on what they want to do and be in this next stage of their career.
