Introduction

This programme aims to provide a very high quality of Radiology training. Trainees will be appointed to the rotation, not to specific hospitals, and will also be part of the wider South East Imaging Academy (SEIA). Structured, comprehensive training is provided in this five-year training programme, with core radiological skills covered in the first three years and further subspecialty experience provided in the final two years. The programme is heavily based on clinical radiology experience, supplemented by teaching courses and clinico-radiological conferences. As training numbers increase and the SEIA expands, there will be an increasing role for the Academy in providing certain aspects of teaching and training.

There is no on-call commitment during the first year of training, but from Year 2 onwards, participation in an on-call rota is required.
